CERT TRAINING A BIG SUCCESS!
Alfreida Jake, Elko Band Environmental, Elko Nevada

CERT Training a big success! Attendees would do it again!

The community members of the Te-Moak Tribe of the Western Shoshone came together to learn and practice the  skills involved in the CERT training.

The participants enjoyed the hands on training from basic disaster medicine to the mock disaster exercise. The most common comments made about the training was the big difference between listening in class and studying the hand book on what you should do, and actually working as a team to get the job done during the mock disaster. There are many situations that can distract you, there arte the emotions of seeing and having to help someone who is wounded, and you have to remember the "techniques" that were learned in class to keep your self from becoming a victim.

The overall consensus was the teams wanted other family members and friends to come to the training.

The Elko Band Council thanks the FEMA trainers, Neal and Frank, for making this training a success.

People sharing what they know helps keep the people of this great nation strong.
