QUINCY CERT
Brian Wilkosky, Deputy Director Youth Services Department

My name is Brian Wilkosky, the Deputy Director Of Youth Services for the City Of Quincy, MA Emergency Management Agency.

The Quincy Emergency Management Agency, started the CERT program back in 1999, and we have just started our 3rd Annual class. As of now we have 55 certified graduates of the CERT Training Program, and as of June of this year we will have a total of about 75 graduates.

We offer this program to anyone in the Commonwealth Of Massachusetts, so that when they complete our course they can go back to their community and try to start a program, hopefully they will be successful.

Our training program classes consist of the original course materials using the CERT Participant Handbook, and we have added additional materials to the basic program and also offer classes in:

  • Communications Skills

  • Introduction To Firearm Safety

  • Weapons Of Mass Destruction / Bio Terrorism

  • Introduction To Search & Recovery

Why we added these classes to help our students be more prepared as we entered the 21st century. At the end of our annual training program, we hold active drills to practice what the students have learned during the 9-week course.
