TRAINING MOBILE HOME COMMUNITIES

In April of 2003, Buccaneer Estates Mobile Home Community exercised its disaster preparedness plan for CERT members.  Other mobile home communities were invited to observe the exercise.  The scenario involved all areas of CERT knowledge and gave the participants a real taste of what a difference a CERT team can make in their community.  Buccaneer Estates obtained their CERT training from North Ft. Myers Fire Rescue.

In May 2003, Lee County Emergency Management in cooperation with North Ft. Myers Fire Rescue presented the first terrorism class for CERT members.  Over 50  persons were in attendance for this morning of training.  The majority of these CERT members live in manufactured home communities.
