EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLANNING

NAEM will assist you in developing a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan.

An Emergency Operations Plan should include the following:

  • Introduction and Concept of Operations
States the purpose of the plan, the types emergencies it addresses, the emergency policies of the organization, the location and function of the Emergency Operations Center, and identifies key personnel and their powers and responsibilities.

  • Emergency Operations
Identifies life safety issues, emergency management structure and assignments, communications, property protection, recovery and business resumption, community outreach and emergency response procedures.

  • Resource Lists
A list of resources for supplies, customers, equipment, services, agreements and contracts, an emergency call list, facility maps, etc.

For an Emergency Operations Plan to be effective everyone in your organization should know the answers to these questions:

Where do I go?   What do I do?   How do I do it?
